ABOUT VERO
Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing for over 17 years doing what I love most! I am bilingual and can communicate fluently in English and in Spanish. I obtained my Bachelors degree at the University of Florida in Psychology and my Social Work Masters degree at Barry University. My early training was working with traumatic cases of domestic violence with adults and children.
I was employed by non-profit agencies such as Kristi House, where I gained a great deal of experience in working with sexually abused children and adolescents. At Kristi House I facilitated individual and group trauma resolution therapy.
Following Kristi House, I worked for many years at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital helping families of diverse cultures through counseling and providing crisis intervention. I then began my private practice in 2016 with Coral Gables Counseling and in 2025 started VLS Therapy.
Some of my specialties include: family dynamics stressors, anger management, behavioral problems, self-esteem issues, traumas, PTSD, relationship issues, LGBTQ+, infertility, anxiety and depression. I implement different therapy techniques according to the client’s needs.

SERVICES
Children and Adolescent
Veronica will first meet with the parents (one or both) for the entire 60 min initial session. The following session, she will meet with the child or adolescent for most of the session time depending on child’s age. Veronica will communicate with the parents throughout the treatment period and encourage parent involvement when appropriate.
Adults
Veronica will meet with the adult for a 60 min initial session and learn about the client’s reasons for seeking therapy and obtain information to form a treatment plan. From then on, Veronica will suggest how frequent the therapy sessions should take place.
Finding a therapist can be challenging at times, that is why Veronica is open to do a 10 min phone consultation in the beginning if necessary. Please call 305-929-3255.
FEES
Insurance
VLS Therapy does not accept insurance. We can provide clients with an invoice that they can submit to their insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Individuals are encouraged to speak to their insurance company directly about their plan's out-of-network behavioral/mental health coverage.
Fees
Fees will be discussed over the phone when scheduling the first appointment.
